Indiana State High School Championship Game: Husker Team Pre-Talk and Prayer

Audio mp3 delivered principally by Gene Hackman

Coach Dale: We've been all over this before. Their top player is Boyle, number 15. He averages about 20 points a game. Buddy, you gotta stick right with him. No inside penetration. Shut down those passing lanes. And you gotta play tough off those boards -- negate their height advantage.

Official: Hickory, it's time to take the floor.

Colin Butcher: I'll get preacher.

Coach Dale: Okay. Well we're way past big speech time. I wanna thank you for the last few months. It's been very special for me. Anybody have anything they wanna say.

Merle: Yeah. Let's win this one for all all the small schools that never had a chance to get here.

Coach Dale: Okay.

Everett: I wanna win for my dad.

Buddy: Let's win for coach. He got us here.

Coach Dale: Thank you.

Reverend Doty: With God of heaven, it is all one: To deliver with a great multitude, or a small company. For the victory of battle standeth not in the multitude of hosts, but strength cometh from heaven.

Preacher Purl: And David put his hand in the bag and took out a stone and slung it, and struck the Philistine on the head, and he fell to the ground.

Doty and Purl: Amen.

Strap: Amen.

Coach Dale: [huddling with the team] I love you guys.

Coach and Players: TEAM!
